Troop 257 of Overland Park, Kansas - The Scouts With Heart

I launched the new troop website a few days ago and announced it at last night's meeting.

After having started another site several months ago, I realized it would have been nice to have recorded part of the process as I went.  So I'll do that here.  (Danger Will Robinson! - yawns ahead!)

Most of the basic mechanics of the site are in place so the next thing to do is to transfer content from the old troop website and the Friends wiki.  New content will be created later - I promise. ;-)

One thing that wasn't working yet was the "captcha" mechanism, so I got that going today.  I've been receiving more invalid account creation requests than valid ones.  I had already put in a bit of a captcha by requesting that users who request accounts send me an email with some basic information that will help me verify their affiliation with the troop.  However, the new captcha mechanism will hopefully prevent most of the fake account requests from ever getting to me.

It's a jungle out there.
